Cyber Tips

3 main things you should be doing to ensure your business is secure:

1. Implement strong passwords and two-factor authentication

One of the most basic and effective ways to protect your business from cyber-attacks is to implement strong passwords and two-factor authentication. Use complex passwords that are difficult to guess and make sure that they are changed regularly.

Impact: Two-factor authentication can add an extra layer of security by requiring users to provide an additional form of identification, such as a code sent to their phone, before accessing sensitive information.

2. Train your employees on cyber security best practices

Your employees are your first line of defence against cyber-attacks. Make sure that all employees are trained on cyber security best practices, including how to identify and respond to phishing emails, how to secure their devices, and how to use company resources safely.

Impact: Regular training can help to raise awareness and reduce the risk of human error leading to a security breach.

3. Keep your software up to date:

Outdated software, including your website’s content management system (CMS), plugins, and themes, can be a security risk. Hackers can exploit known vulnerabilities to gain unauthorized access to your website and its data.

How: Ensure that you keep all software up to date with the latest security patches and bug fixes. Regularly check for updates and apply them as soon as they become available.
